The Mana node only shows up if you kill either all Fey Dirhai or all Fey Elhai in the vale and in the surrounding areas:
Depending on which feys you kill, the wood trees either look sparkling or dead. And depending on which kind of fey you killed, a good or a bad Mana Node shows up.
